And you do realize that the Falcons needed to draft a left tackle to protect his blindside. A defensive tackle cannot alter the fate of a franchise the way a quarterback can.

Unfortunately, Gene Upshaw has his head stuck so far up his ass that he can't get it through his thick skull that rookies who never played a snap in the NFL haven't earned shit. Upshaw wants absolutely no rookie salary cap.
August 21st, 2008 at 13:56:39 I certainly wish the best of luck to Matt Ryan. The Falcons unfortunately have a QB history not to be proud of. The most glaring scars on that QB history are the Brett Favre trade (which carried the fingerprints of Jerry Glanville moreso than the Falcons organization at large) and the Michael Vick dogfighting scandal (the Matt Schaub trade could also turn out to be a major scar for the Falcons' QB history, particularly because of the timing of it).

The play calling cant be as bad, and the RB situation cant be as bad.
August 21st, 2008 at 15:51:34 People forget about Shockley, he hasnt been given a chance to prove himself because of injury. So who's gonna be the starter? Ryan? Harrington? Redman? Shockley? I dunno about you guys...but I dont think we are nearly as bad as ESPN and media says we are. in the early season last year we could have easily been 4-1 5-2...several games decided by 1 or 2 plays..single digits.
